The Institute of Urdu Language and Literature held the successful defense of a PhD thesis by scholar Ghulam Shabbir on April 22, 2026. His dissertation, titled “Literary Dimensions of Samina Raja,” was supervised by Dr. Arifa Iqbal.

The external examiners, Dr. Afzal Butt (Government College for Women University, Sialkot) and Dr. Naseema Rehman (GC University, Lahore), commended the scholar’s work and declared the defense successful, recommending the award of the doctoral degree.

The session was attended by faculty members and students. The Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen, congratulated the scholar and supervisor and thanked the participants.
