PU Library holds “Meet the Authors” session

LAHORE: (Saturday, January 24, 2026): The Punjab University Library Book Club organized an event titled “Meet the Authors”. The event featured distinguished authors Dr Osama Siddique and Dr Nasir Abbas Nayyar, along with Chief Librarian Muhammad Asif Khan, faculty members, researchers, scholars, writers, social intellectuals and students. Dr Osama Siddique is a well-known novelist, academic, and legal scholar whose work bridges literature, philosophy, and social inquiry. His novel ‘Who Knows the Bounds of Desire’ has been widely appreciated for its rich narrative, aesthetic depth, and exploration of human longing, identity, and cultural memory. Dr Osama shed light on the thematic concerns of his novel, the creative process behind its writing, and the role of literature in understanding complex social and emotional realities. Dr Nasir Abbas Nayyar, a prominent literary critic, intellectual, and academic, is especially known for his influential work in Urdu literature and criticism. His book Mera Daghistan-a-Jaded reflects a deep engagement with literary theory, cultural critique, and intellectual autobiography. In his address, Dr Nasir shared insights into his literary journey, critical perspectives, and the evolution of modern Urdu literature. Muhammad Asif Khan expressed his sincere gratitude to the distinguished authors, guests, faculty members, students, and all participants for making the event a success.
