World are benefiting from AI: Malik Ahmad Khan

Lahore: (Thursday, November 13, 2025): Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, said that developed countries across the world are benefiting from artificial intelligence (AI), and we must also introduce it at the school level. He was addressing the concluding ceremony of the three-day “Sahafi Summit 2025” organized by the Punjab University Department of Media and Development Communication at Al-Raazi Hall here on Thursday. On this occasion, senior journalist Salman Ghani, Chairperson Department of Media and Development Communication Dr Ayesha Ashfaq, MMFD Founder Asad Baig, heads of departments, media representatives, faculty members, and a large number of students were present. In his address, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that artificial intelligence is influencing every field of life. He noted that social media plays a significant role in forming and toppling governments. He said that human intellect itself created AI, but sometimes human-made inventions can also cause harm. He emphasized the need to increase the education budget so that the youth can benefit from modern technology. He said that freedom of expression must be respected and that there should be no restrictions on critical thinking. He said that the media played a highly responsible role and won the battle of communication globally during the Pak-India war. He added that Pakistan’s armed forces are well-trained and strong, and the entire nation demonstrated courage and bravery during the war. He remarked that in the age of artificial intelligence, the role of journalists has become highly challenging. He appreciated the organizers for arranging an event on such an important and timely topic. He said that accountability does not merely mean show trials but real transparency, evidence-based decisions, and the enforcement of the principle of equality for all citizens. Senior journalist Salman Ghani said that during the Pak-India war, the national media demonstrated unity and harmony. He added that artificial intelligence can never be a substitute for real human intelligence. He said that despite all restrictions, no one can stop the flow of news, and that news is the power of a journalist, which must be used responsibly. Dr Ayesha Ashfaq thanked the partners, guests and participants, saying that the three-day summit provided students with a valuable opportunity to learn from the experiences of their seniors.
