First-ever Road Safety Theme Park inaugurated at PU LAHORE: (Tuesday, March 18, 2025): National Highways and Motorways Police DIG Syed Farid Ali has inaugurated the first-ever Road Safety Theme Park at Punjab University Institute of Education and Research here on Tuesday. On this occasion, Director IER Prof Dr Abdul Qayyum Chaudhary, SP Atif Shahzad, faculty members, officials, and students were present. In his address, Syed Fareed Ali shed light on essential safety rules for the drivers of bikes, motor cars and heavy traffic. He said that all motorcyclists and drivers should be wearing the helmet and seat belt for their safety and to avoid traffic challans. He stressed the need to obey traffic signals as well. He said that we should work together to overcome road accidents. He said that we are working with academia to raise awareness about traffic rules among students. Prof Dr Abdul Qayyum Chaudhary said we are excited to collaborate with NH∓to promote road safety awareness among students and the general public. He said that our vision is to create an interactive theme park with simulated roads, traffic signals and pedestrian crossings. He said that without immediate and coordinated efforts, the number of lives lost will continue to rise, leaving families and communities in despair.
