(Engineering) degree in Metallurgy, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Polymer Engineering, Polymer Technology, Bio-Technology, Bio-Chemistry or MSc Coal Technology, or relevant degree, from HEC recognized institutions. |
II. |
No third division in the whole career. |
III. |
Qualifying marks in the admission test conducted by the University are 50%. |
IV. |
Qualifying marks in the interview are 50%. |
For MSc. (Engg.) Corrosion and Surface Engineering and MSc. (Engg.) Computational Materials Engineering |

4 years B.Sc. (Engineering) degree in Metallurgy, Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Polymer, Civil engineering or a similar engineering degree equivalent to 16 years of education from PEC and HEC recognized institution. |

For MSc (Engg.) Metallurgy and Materials Engineering |

Category B |
|
I. |
MS / M.Phil. / M.Sc. (Engg/Hons.)/ equivalent degree with minimum CGPA less than 3.00 (out of 4.0) in the semester system or first division (60%) in the annual system as per HEC and PU rules. |

II. |
No third division in the whole career. |

III. |
Qualifying marks in the admission test conducted by the University are 60%. For Test pattern and details/break up of 60% scoring |

IV. |
Qualifying marks in the interview are 50%. |

V. |
Additional courses of 9-12 CH of level 7 in zero semester and score a minimum of 3.00 out of 4.00 GPA. (If both conditions are not fulfilled by the applicant, the admission will stand cancelled) |

Candidates without a thesis in MS/MPhil/equivalent are eligible to apply, but they shall complete a deficiency of 06 credit hours in research thesis. |

GRE-Subject Test (conducted by the university in the discipline of admission.) with minimum 50% marks |

6-9 CH of deficiency courses of level 6 after starting the program in zero semester. |
For PhD: |

Other Requirements:

CGPA on a scale other than 4:00 will be converted accordingly for MS/M.Phil/PhD or equivalent

• |
Those applicants whose final results have yet to be declared can apply for admission. However, while applying, they must select the option "Result Awaiting" while filling out their terminal degree marks. Furthermore, they must submit their notified result (from the Controller of Examination, University) on or before the interview date in the Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering.

• |
Marks 40 are reserved for academic qualification (the merit formula table is available at www.pu.edu.pk/dpcc) to be added in the merit.
|

The admission regulations of MS / M.Phil. / M.Sc. (Engg./Hons) /equivalent/ Ph.D. can also be obtained from the respective Department / Institute / Centre / College / School. For further information, please contact the respective Institute.

The processing and examination fee, i.e., Rs.2050/- must be deposited in the bank through the online Bank challan form generated during application submission. After the submission of fee to the bank, (HBL, UBL or Mobile banking through 1Bill) details must be entered in the application. Final application must be generated for completion of the online submission.

Application received (online) after due date and time will not be entertained in any case. |
• |
Equivalence from PU is required (Qualification from Institutions other than the University of the Punjab will be equalized by the Equivalence Committee of the University of the Punjab). Candidates must apply for equivalence well in time to the Equivalence Cell, PU and must provide the same before the interview.

• |
Equivalence of Degrees Awarded by Chartered Foreign Universities will also be required from HEC Pakistan. PU equivalence is also required. |
• |
A candidate in the job should provide an NOC from his or her employer on the date of the interview; those who fail to submit will not be included in the merit list. |
• |
A foreign candidate should apply through his or her home country's embassy or consulate and Pakistan's mission abroad (in the case of Overseas Pakistanis). NOC and equivalence of degrees from HEC are required. |
