PU gets third position in THE ranking


LAHORE: (Thursday, September 12, 2019): Achieving another mark of excellence, Punjab University for the first time has got third position in Pakistan in the recent ranking of universities issued by Times Higher Education (THE), a prestigious institution to rank universities worldwide. Moreover, Punjab University has also been ranked among the top 800 to 1000 universities in the world. Punjab University Academic Staff Association has congratulated PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Niaz Ahmad and his team on this achievement. In a statement, ASA President Prof Dr Mumtaz Anwar Chaudhry and Secretary Javed Sami and others have said that the achievement was result of research-friendly policies of incumbent administration which had taken several initiatives to promote research culture in Punjab University and had supported university teachers. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed has also appreciated the efforts of PU Ranking Committee Chairman Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood for improvement in university’s national and international ranking.
