PU not to tolerate any “dharna” pressure: spokesman


LAHORE: (Monday, March 12, 2018): A Punjab University spokesman has said that the university administration would not take care of any “dharna-style” pressure from any student group on expulsion of students who were found involved in January 22 violence. In a press statement, the spokesman said that action was taken against the students on the basis of strong evidence as per rules and regulations. He said that such “dharna” politics had damaged national politics and there was a conspiracy to Damage University’s peaceful academic atmosphere. The spokesman said that PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zakria Zakar would see the appeals of expelled students as per law and he is determined not to tolerate any unlawful pressure against the decision of disciplinary committee.
