Dr Zahir Munir's book to bring Greece, Pakistan together

LAHORE: (Wednesday, May 5, 2021): Ambassador of Greece to Pakistan Mr Andreas Papastavrous has said that Prof Dr Zahid Munir Amir's book on Greece will play an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries. Praising Dr Zahid Munir Amir's travelogue, Mr Andreas Papastavrous said that one of the blessings a person has in one's lifetime, is meeting people and getting to know their history, their culture and their life and finally being able to understand them. This knowledge is an invaluable source of intellectual richness and happiness. Professor Zahid Munir Amir, in his knowledgeable and touching account, has attained precisely that goal, through literature, through culture! Culture is a bridge, bringing people together. He said that the culture is a ship, carrying us to new, wonderful destinations. Culture is a window, opening up to new fields! Culture is light, dispersing the lurking darkness. He said that Professor Zahid Munir Amir travelled extensively in Greece and with his profound sensitivity, knowledge and respect, discovered the land and its history, from the distant past to the present. He said Dr Munir witnessed the beauty of ancient times and the vibrating spirit of the modem land and all this is conveyed masterfully in his book. He said that he was happy that the people of Pakistan will have such a precious companion in their voyage to Greece, intellectual or real, or both. He said that through the pages of the book, they will get closer to the country and its people and they will find out how many things we really share. He congratulated Professor Zahid Munir Amir for having achieved a scholarly, but at the same time human approach to something we all hold dear.
