Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics Organized One-day “Virtual Seminar on Coronavirus and Diabetes” on November 14th, 2020. Department aims to educate the students and reaserchers about the disease, prevention and its correlation with Coronavirus. Department regularly observes the World Diabetes Day from several years. The theme of 2020 is "Coronavirus and Diabetes" which is approved by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). This one-day virtual seminar was organized by Prof. Dr. Sikandar Sultan (Chairman, Dept. of MMG), Dr. Samreen Riaz (Asst. Prof. and Focal person from MMG), (Dr. Ahmed Naveed Bhatti, Working at Latif Hospital Lahore as Consultant Family Physician. He is Member of World Organization of Family Doctors – WONCA, American Academy of Family Physician- AAFP and Vice Chairman, Finance Secretary and Director, Association of Family Physicians Pakistan (PAFP) and Familycon and Mr. Abdullah Mohsin (Research Scholar University of Lahore). Dr. Ahmed Naveed Bhatti gave a comprehensive talk on the topic of Coronavirus and diabetes. The event went very successful, and more than 100 different participants from various departments, universities and colleges have attended. The seminar was sponsored by PAFP and IDF. It was a very fascinating and thought-provoking event. Such events should also be arranged regularly in future as they have a good impact regarding the betterment of our health.
