Sarir-e Khama: Exhibition of Calligraphy Art, 2022


An international conference on calligraphy entitled ‘Sarir-e Khama: the Art of the Pen’ organized by the College of Art and Design of the University of the Punjab, is now in its final phase, which is based on an exhibition of assorted work of calligraphic art for public viewing starting from 16th of March 2022, at the Grand Hall of the College of Art and Design, university of the Punjab, Allama Iqbal Campus Lahore.
Almost seventy (70) calligraphy artists will be exhibiting their work at this exhibition, from Pakistan as well as from abroad. Twenty-five international artists, including bigwigs like Efdaluddin Kilic and Betul Eser from Turkey, Kazem Khorasani and Mahsa Divacci from Iran, Zaki al Hashmi from Yemen and, Ismail Haqi from Egypt and many more are displaying their unique style and technique of this art-form. On the other hand, forty-five artists from all areas of Pakistan are also part of this unique show.
The Sarir-e Khama Exhibition has provided national and international calligraphers a unique platform to the young generation of Pakistan, the Exhibition is comprised of two major sections; traditional and classical style of calligraphy, and the modern styles and techniques of this art-form. This show is also putting on display the contemporary trends in calligraphy emerging around the world especially during the first two decades of the twenty-first century. The show would remain open till 26 March, 2022.
